Getting the Word Out in Senegal!

Malaria No More is arrived in Kaolack, Senegal yesterday to help distribute mosquito nets as part of the mass distribution of nets to all children under 5 across the country.
We also found out that Youssou’s message is definitely getting out! We’re hearing “Xeex Sibbiru” all over the place…and when I walked up to a group of [...]

Xeex Sibbiru: View from the Crowd!

The “Surround Sound: Senegal” team is completely exhausted after an incredible Xeex Sibbiru concert in Pikine on Saturday night, but wanted to make sure you got a taste of it! Youssou was amazing—he told the audience that every person in Senegal could help fight malaria: rich and poor, young and old.

Chai has graciously allowed Malaria No More to [...]

Cropping Out Malaria

Samba came straight to the office after [...]

Beware Unripe Mangoes!

We have just finished an intensive week in the studio where we recorded three versions of the new Youssou song “Xeex Sibbiru” (or “Fight Malaria” in Wolof) in various local languages. Between takes, many of the artists and creators chatted about their own experiences with malaria (many to the camera for an upcoming documentary we’re [...]
