Getting the Word Out in Senegal!

Prayer Call

From Thies, we headed out to Linguere, five hours away by bumpy roads. We stopped off in Touba, the spiritual center of Senegal, for our driver to pray and for us to tour the grounds. Each year, millions of Senegalese Muslims make a pilgrimage to Touba by car, bus, horse-drawn cart…anything on wheels.

All Prevention is Local

Reflections on visiting a case de santé or “health hut” here in Senegal. This one, in Thiès, is a model for village-level health care in the country. As a part of the visit, we witnessed a fascinating grandmother’s malaria education session. See below for video of grandmothers dancing against malaria!
